Welcome to Renewable Foods Group

Reimagining excess manufactured consumer foods into nutritious food ingredients, helping to reduce environmental impact and supporting a better future.

Renewable Foods Group was established to do good.

So much good, edible food is wasted each year in Australia, in fact 42% of food waste is created in the food supply chain before it reaches food retailers.

Large scale food manufacturing, by design, will always generate excess to create the perfect foods we love to eat or drink. This includes the mis-shaped, the slightly out of specification, trimmings or the ugly bits that we don't like to eat

Much of this 'excess' resource generated by big food and drink manufacturing is still perfectly edible by humans and it's nutritious – it’s definitely not waste, and it's also not in a format that we as consumers can easily access or use.

Manufacturers responsibly don't want to see these quality foodstuffs go to land fill. The common industry solution is to sell these foodstuffs as stock feed, which solves one problem, but contributes to others such as increased greenhouse impacts from cows (methane), transport emissions and low environmental traceability. Plus, it's just a waste of good food and it puts pressure on our land resources for more crops and livestock.

Renewable Foods Group is dedicated to reimagining these manufactured foodstuffs into new high value food ingredients, products that can be consumed in the global human food supply chain in the form of cooking ingredients, alternative nonmeat proteins, nutritional supplements, snacks and more.

This means less demand for new crops, lower water use, less land fill and lower emissions

Renewable Foods Group acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live, meet and work. We wish to pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise the continuous connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to land, water and Country.
